My domain mimaca.com expired on 2-23-07 thru Yahoo and I did not renew, nor have I been charged. However it appears that I still own the domain and it is still displaying my page holder that I left there. The domain package for it does not expire until 12-28-07, I can still upload and put files there if I want to. Google is still caching and keeping it current in there search results. Lol, I do not want the domain, just wondering why I still have control of it if it is expired, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I bought a package website eighteen months ago but have now decided to design my own site. I allowed the registration period to elapse in July so I could register with another host, but the host is still listing the site as mine three months later. Can anyone suggest a course of action to get them to release it? I’ve tried contacting them directly but they just tell me it will be released soon…
The host is Freestart.
Ok, I want to create a fan site for an actress and the .com domain expired on March 6, 2008. I did a “who is” search and found the owner lives in japan (and he never even created a site, just bought the domain name). He’s had the name since 2000. But it shows it wasn’t renewed. It’s actually NEVER been a website.
Ok, so what are my options right now? It’s almost been 30 days since the domain name expired. There is absolutely no website up now, it’s just an ad and it does say
“This Domain May Be For Sale” with an email address to write to:
buyyourdomainnamenow@gmail.com
I don’t think this is an email address for the owner, but I have no idea who this email address goes to. I’m afraid if I send an email, the owner may see someone is interested and renew it.
How can I buy an expired domain? I don’t want to make an offer to the owner if they haven’t even renewed the domain.
So I guess I forgot to update my email on my dns account so I didn’t get the notice that my domain was expiring. I called the company and they said that I either have to wait a month to re-get the domain and risk loosing it or I can do a domain retrieve and they can get it back for $80. I would like to save the $80, does anybody know of a better way?
I don’t mean to sound cheap, but $80 is a lot to me right now.
I tried looking at other registrars and they all say it is already taken…now what?
