I’ve recently experienced some frustrating issues with managing my yahoo domain and web hosting services. I’m not sure how I did it.. but I accidently deleted my web hosting plan. Then I ended up canceling my domain name because I thought it would take affect immediately (meaning it would be available for purchase again within a short period of time so I could get it on another yahoo account). After I canceled all this, I found that it would take until 2012 until my domain name expired, so even though I canceled my rights to it, unless I reactivate it.. I will not be able to use it at all.
Basically, I was wondering what would happen if I delete this entire yahoo! account- would that make the domain name available for purchase again?
Or, if I were to reactivate the domain name, is there any way I can transfer it to another yahoo account?
Sorry if this is confusing..
Answers are greeeeattly appreciated.

Hi. I just got a notice from Yahoo on renewal my domain names. THey are increasing the renewal fee from 9.95 to a whopping 34.95. So I want to cancel with them and move them to another domain registrar like Godady or something.
My question is, do i just let my domain names expire and then register them with Godady? Do I not run the danger of someone else registering the names in the time between their expiry and when I re-register them?
Is there a sure way of moving them to a new domain registry service with risking loosing them?
Thank for your advise.
I used to have a domain name called nnstyle.com I register it with registerfly.com from 2002 , this year i decide to renew but due to trouble in their system tehy did not renew my site and the name expired , can i foce them to compensate me ? or can i force them to return me my domain ?
yes they ask me for 200$ to return my domain back
I mean they delay on renew not me , they must pay for this is it true ?
Hey! There is this expired domain name that I really want to buy, since it would be great for my site. The only problem is that I found out that previously the domain had been used for something illegal. (I think a pyramid scheme.) Would I be held responsible if I bought the domain? Thanks!
I have paid for renewing my domain name to my reseller on the last day of expiry. ! week has passed but ads are shown on my domain name and saying “this domain is expired”
My reseller is saying he renewed and we must wait until domain will go out parking. Is there somathing like that?
is’nt it must be renewed in a short time?
on whois lookup my details are written. And it is saying domain was renewed by domain parking?
some friends has said you must wait 1 month to go out from parking?
is it true?
1) Paying for domain thru Yahoo/Geocities for years
2) Website has been visible and active for years
3) Now when you go to www.concreteshopinc.com, it shows something other than our website
4) When you click on the link to find out why, it says our domain is expired.
5) But, when you go to whois.com, it shows we still own the domain
6) So, what is the problem with Yahoo/Geocities and what happened to our website?
The .com domain I want is currently taken. I found that it doesn’t expire for another year… I need a website in the meantime.
The domain is available with a .net extension… So my question is, in your opinion, would it be more effective to get a.net domain or a similar .com with an added word?
Example: www.johnsmith.net OR www.justjohnsmith.com
Thanks in advance for expert opinions!!
