Gentry asked:

Hi. So most .com names that are about to expire can be purchased through places like snapnames. But where do I go to purchase a .dk domain (Denmark) that is about to drop ? Is there even such a service available for .dk domains ?
Att. Sibbi S. Unfortunately that company aren’t offering domain drop service. Just domain registration.
I thank you for your effort anyway !

How can you purchase a domain name before it actually goes for sale?

AutoTodo asked:

ie: There’s a domain name that is going to expire this year that I would like to purchase. Is there any way for me to make an advance purchase of the domain so that the moment the former owner loses control of the domain, I gain it?

I would rather wait for the domain to expire than have to purchase it from the owner. I’m likely going to park it for a little while anyway, so it’s not urgent, but I do want to acquire it.

Thanks!

I forgot to renew my domain name – I forgot to keep a record of when it expired. I bought it two years ago and had a different e mail address. I could not get my web site up – I checked with domain names and it had e xpired.(it expired on the 23rd May I renewed it on the 26th May) I have renewed it now (two days ago) but still it is not coming up. Other people can get it apparently. I’ve been told the servers have to try to find my site once it has e xpired. I am losing business! Will it come back!!

JR asked:

Hi,

My Yahoo account was deleted, yet I had domain names that I used to manage through Small Business area. Obviously, I cannot do this now. I don’t host the domain with Yahoo – I just registered it with them. MelbourneIT is the one who has the registration, etc…. is there a way to resolve this issue? I don’t want to have my domain expire.

Your input is appreciated.

I keep getting offers from groups like “Liberty Names” to renew my domain name but I just want to do it with Yahoo again. Unfortuanately, I cannot find anywhere on the Yahoo sight that actually gives me the opportunity to “renew.”

If it exists, I’d like to know where it is found.
More precisely, I’m looking after a domain name that is set to expire soon and want to make sure I will be the first to register it.

But… the domain name is not even something all that special. It’s not popular.

Got fired, bought domain names?

Donna Lu asked:

After more than 25 years at my job, I got fired over the phone by the new owner. I knew he had a website for his other office and was going to eventually do one for the new office.
I bought 2 domains with variations of the name and when he finally sought to put up a site, found that the name (s) were taken and easily learned that i owned them.
His manager says she will wait for them to expire, but I will renew them in perpetuity, if need be.
The company name is not registered, but I wondered if he could do anything legally to me for taking the name.
I understand they were really p.o.’d when they learned this. LOL
