I am a writer, inventor and retired anesthesiologist. Searching the Internet, I recently discovered that the Brain Dex Company is selling T-Shirts with my expired patent (including my name), printed on them. I am aware that my patent is now Public Domain. But my name ?

According to who-is info, I have obtained information on a domain that I want to own. It’s my name, nothing popular. This domain has been dead, as in, the owner hasn’t put anything on the web, just owned the domain. UNTIL 1/23/09!!!! That is when this domain expires. I already own a domain, and know that you can have your domain company “auto-renew” your domains, which if he did have that in this case, I don’t think I would have a chance at it.

When does this domain expire on 1/23/09, and will I be able to register it the day it expires IF he doesn’t have auto-renew enabled?

I want to purcahse a domain name but it is already in use. There is nothing on the website though. It re directs you to some other site so techinally, you can’t even pull up the domain I want to buy. The website it re-directs you too, also has nothing on it.

I checked under WhoIs but it’s registered privately under www.domainsbyproxy.com. So I can’t get any contact information.

The website it brings you too hasn’t been updated since 2007 same with the website I am interested in buying.

I found out it will expire in Jan 2009. How can I go about getting it?

The whole ordeal. Im so frustrated and feel real stupid asking for advice :].. I have a brother who has a website ATVBAJATOURS.com and we wanted to start a new webite, so on Officelive I ceated one Atvbajatours.net. Im still constructing and learning since its the first ever to attempt making one. Our plan was to transfer the Domain name ATVBAJATOURS.com to ATVBAJATOURS.NET. so we could keep the name. So I go to find out that atvbajatours.com is going to expire and the account was with Network solutions under the mans name my brother inlaw pays monthly to host the webpage. I called him and he tells me that yes he h0sts the website through his company Hostmaster@SIXTHWEB.COM said he has nothing to do with the domain name. hes primary contact and I cant tranfer it unless he authorizes it.. he told me that since (Not enough Characters to finsh this emai) any one who could help me and listen to the rest email me and I will finish the story stacyinjamul@yahoo.com PLEASE HELP
The website was not viewable since it expired and we had a hard time getting in contact with the man. Network solutions extented there services until i was able to contact him. Long story short. The guy said we owed him for the past month of charges which is 50.00 for the hosting. (my bro in law has been paying since 1998 50.00 a month). He said he just does the hosting for greg and his article is in atvconnections. Well I paid the late charges for the past month and the renewal fees for 35.00 a year for the domain knowing the site has been up for auction.I told him the site no longer needs to be hosted by him and that when he became a ***. If I go, for example to godaddy and buy a domain. It mentions that you can buy a website eg ‘abc123.com’ and then you’ll have to renew it if you want to keep it.
How do websites like google.com/youtube.com keep their name and prevent others from taking it? Is there a lease for 1000years (for example)? How exactly does it work?

I am currently doing a website under a .org account apparently someone has reserved the use of the .com ahead of me already but its over a year now and that person hasn’t made use of the site. The .com is set to expire soon and I want it for my site too. My .org site is already fully developed and functioning and I want it changed to .com. How is it possible for me to acquire the .com now? Can I reserve it though someone has reserved it? I’ve contacted the the person who has the .com but he’s only willing to compromise at a very unreasonable rate. Its really obvious that he only intends to give in to me if I accept his offer. What to do? What are my remedies?
