With “auto-renewal” option selected, does GoDaddy.com auto-renew the domain name for one year or two years?

hungry_foolish asked:

I have a domain name which i bought with GoDaddy. Now it is close to expiration. I have enabled the “auto-renew” option. So, it will automatically renew the domain name, and not let it expire.

But will it renew the domain name for 2 years or 1 year. The reason im asking this is because everywhere in GoDaddy, by default, 2 years is selected. That has made me confused. So, please help me out!

can subscription services be sent to collection agencies?

dunlap_ent asked:

I have a domain name that I bought a year of registration. I canceled my credit card and had no plans to renew the domain after the year was up. The registrar 1and1.com, did not expire the domain, sent the bill to collections, and now I’m getting harrassed by NCO financial. Doing a search for “1and1 nco” I find they do this a lot.

I always thought that subscriptions such as magazines, clubs, etc.. that I pay for in advance cannot go to collections.

how can I fight the $18.95 collection agency charge?

For non-religious christians and/or creative minds: Need help with Web site name?

Michael asked:

I’ve been watching and waiting for this one domain to expire called “religionsucks.com” but I think its annual renewal is on auto-pilot and the owner doesn’t even seem to know it. I’m looking for ideas for a similar name.

The main concept of the site is to distinguish between true biblical christianity and religion. The secondary concept is to inform the reader that no religion gets people closer to God and that there is no one true “religion” (meaning people need Jesus Christ, not religion).

I’m hoping the site’s name will be similar to “religionsucks.com” and will have a shock value that compels people to check it out.

Thank you.
Ok, to answer some of your questions, a non-religious christian look like…well, like Jesus Christ. Most religious foke hated him because he didn’t follow their traditions.

Great answers some of you. Thanks.

Cannot communicate with primary DNS server(192.168.0.1).
Network diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not
recieve a response.

The capability of your network adaptor does not match
the requirements of this network.

There may be a problem with your domain name server(DNS)
configuration. Windows failed to find the well known
host “www.microsoft.com” using DNS. The server may be down.

She doesn’t remember her password of her yahoo account, that account is the one she used in registering & buying my domain in Yahoo! Domain Name.

She called the Y! Domain support for many times but nobody answered her phone call, she emailed them also but no reply.

I own the domain that she bought as her gift to me in Y! Domain Names … Now since my domain is now expired we can’t renew the domain because of the password problem. My domain turned into ad space.

Please help me!

Apache Virtual Servers?

carl w asked:

i have two websites that im trying to set up on the same apache server. the main site always displays on both sites, instead of the two different sites showing on their respective domains. how do i fix this? this is my httpd file:

#
# This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
# configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
# See for detailed information.
# In particular, see
#
# for a discussion of each configuration directive.
#
# Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
# what they do. They’re here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
# consult the online docs. You have been warned.
#
# Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
# of the server’s control files begin with “/” (or “drive:/” for Win32), the
# server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
# with “/”, the value of ServerRoot is prepended — so “logs/foo.log”
# with ServerRoot set to “C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2″ will be interpreted by the
# server as “C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/logs/foo.log”.
#
# NOTE: Where filenames are specified, you must use forward slashes
# instead of backslashes (e.g., “c:/apache” instead of “c:\apache”).
# If a drive letter is omitted, the drive on which Apache.exe is located
# will be used by default. It is recommended that you always supply
# an explicit drive letter in absolute paths to avoid confusion.

#
# ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server’s
# configuration, error, and log files are kept.
#
# Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
# ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile directive
# at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for multiple
# httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and PidFile.
#
ServerRoot “c:/wamp/bin/apache/apache2.2.11″

#
# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the
# directive.
#
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
#
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 80

Google Sites problems?

10point0 asked:

I recently bought a domain name through Google Apps. Google Sites was automatically activated, which is what I wanted. A few years ago, I signed up with Google Pages, but never used it and the domain name eventually expired. Google Pages is gone so I assumed Google Sites was the same thing. I’m starting a small business and wanted to build a website on the domain name I bought, but Google Sites won’t allow it or I can’t seem to find where to do it. All I can do is create a “site” which ends up looking something like this: “http://www.sites.google.com/a/url_here”. That’s not exactly what I had in mind, nor is it easy to remember or easy to put on advertisements. Please help!
