Hi, I am trying to set up a webpage under my domain.

I have purchased a domain
I have set up an index page
I think I have set up a DNS server (With Windows Web Server 2003)

When I use network tools to trace DNS server on my website, it returns with:

Problem is, when I try to open the website, it doesn’t connect
When I try using anonymouse, it returns an either Error Timeout, or

Unable to determine IP address from host name

The DNS server returned:

Server Failure: The name server was unable to process this query.

Any ideas? Thanks!
P.S. I can’t manage to get the Active Directory working due to the fact that Web Server edition’s lack in DCPROMO

Oh, the name of the jargon that describes the address to forward would be most helpful, there are just sooo many I.P. Address fields.
Oh, on a side note, if I type in my I.P. Address, it does open the web page
Also, I am Hosting the DNS server on the same computer as my Web Server.

i am a small business customer. and i have purchased 5 domain names with yahoo ( with ID kapson2 )

now yahoo has deleted my account ID kapson2,
i have tried to recover that ID but can’t succed.

now How can I manage my Domain Control panel?
i have tried to contact the yahoo small business Team also,
But no Answer ..

i am worried how will i renew my domains when it expires.

is there any one knows what to do in this situation?
any guidline please…

Last question, What sites do you suggest going to to “Buy” domain names, as oppesed to leasing them for 1 to 10 years.

Here’s the answer that melancholygiant gave:
There aren’t any. You can only register domain names for a period of time, and must renew them when the registration expires. This is the case for all domain names. As long as the registration is renewed, you own it. Once you let the registration expire, it’s up for grabs.

Our small company has a web site and I’m in charge of updating it with images and information, but just recently the web site went down and I don’t know why? Someone told me that the domain name expired but the person in charge said no it has not. I could view our web site without the WWW, but if i add the www.show4you.com it does not work. Can anyone shed some light. thanks.
This is not some spam just to get peeps to the site. its not mine its my boss and basically he will turn to me to fix this matter. I did check and yes the domain name does not expire until may ( the first post confirmed that). last post said try http://www and reads internet explorer cannot display the webpage. So i tried to go on a site and this message comes up with a bunch of stuff..NOTICE: This domain name expired on 08/15/2009 and is pending renewal or deletion

What does this mean?

Mine is expiring today but I **** the name and the fact that the price rose from $7.14 to $10.14. So where can I buy a cheap domain name? No need for hosting, I already got that.

Earlier this year I backordered a domain name from GoDaddy. It is an important URL to me since it is my name .com (e.g. johnsmith.com )

I e-mailed the owner of it through GoDaddy and he transferred it to me after his registration expired a few days later. This was in May. Ihave since developed the website.

Now he is asking me to give it back to him since he didn’t realize I was a different “johnsmith” than he had been working with. I didn’t intend to dupe him, he just gave away the URL for essentially free without checking his facts.

Now the other “johnsmith” is mad he lost his rights. I’m very new to domain name sales/acquisitions, etc.

What would you do?
