Your DNS address shouldn’t be 192.168.0.1… that’s a private IP address that points to your router. Your DNS address should point to a server of some kind (your ISP, for instance).
Plug your computer directly into the modem… Use IE… go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections>LAN Settings.
Make sure “Automatically detect settings” is checked.
Close the browser.
Do another ipconfig/all.
Copy down what comes up for Default Gateway, DHCP Server and DNS Server.
Connect your router back to the modem, and log into your router
-Open IE, type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar… that should be the default IP of the router.
-If you haven’t changed the Username and PW of the router in the past, leave the user name blank, and use admin as the PW
-Correct the Default Gateway, DHCP Server and DNS Server IP addresses in your router.
OR… call your ISP, I guess.
