Hi, I am trying to set up a webpage under my domain.

I have purchased a domain
I have set up an index page
I think I have set up a DNS server (With Windows Web Server 2003)

When I use network tools to trace DNS server on my website, it returns with:

Problem is, when I try to open the website, it doesn’t connect
When I try using anonymouse, it returns an either Error Timeout, or

Unable to determine IP address from host name

The DNS server returned:

Server Failure: The name server was unable to process this query.

Any ideas? Thanks!
P.S. I can’t manage to get the Active Directory working due to the fact that Web Server edition’s lack in DCPROMO

Oh, the name of the jargon that describes the address to forward would be most helpful, there are just sooo many I.P. Address fields.
Oh, on a side note, if I type in my I.P. Address, it does open the web page
Also, I am Hosting the DNS server on the same computer as my Web Server.

We renewed our domain last year for 2 yrs. this year it was not renewed by the provider and the domain registration is expired. Now the provider is saying the name server has to be propagated with global name server and take time to 4 hrs to 48hrs. The registration and hosting was with Pugmarks Inc. How to proceed legally with this problem. Pls some one suggest us.

The problem: Low traffic to parked names. ** Is there a company out there that will send traffic to parked domains without violating T.O.S ** All the ones I see are from pop-ups, pop-unders, banners, links or redirected. I was just about to purchase some expired domain traffic but remembered reading that traffic cannot be redirected and all this traffic is easily detected by using the same referrer since they all direct it through there servers.***** Not trying to cheat the system, Not wanting clicks just unique ip’s and referrers from North America.** Have money to invest in my own servers or what ever it takes. Would love to contact the person that can help.

i just registered a domain name,when will it expire?will it recharge from my credit card and extend the expiration date automatically?

I want to purcahse a domain name but it is already in use. There is nothing on the website though. It re directs you to some other site so techinally, you can’t even pull up the domain I want to buy. The website it re-directs you too, also has nothing on it.

I checked under WhoIs but it’s registered privately under www.domainsbyproxy.com. So I can’t get any contact information.

The website it brings you too hasn’t been updated since 2007 same with the website I am interested in buying.

I found out it will expire in Jan 2009. How can I go about getting it?

Also.. I found this on it’s registered host godaddy.com . Not sure what it means..

The whole ordeal. Im so frustrated and feel real stupid asking for advice :].. Im still constructing and learning since its the first ever to attempt making one. Our plan was to transfer the Domain name ATVBAJATOURS.com to ATVBAJATOURS.NET. so we could keep the name. So I go to find out that atvbajatours.com is going to expire and the account was with Network solutions under the mans name my brother inlaw pays monthly to host the webpage. I called him and he tells me that yes he h0sts the website through his company Hostmaster@SIXTHWEB.COM said he has nothing to do with the domain name. hes primary contact and I cant tranfer it unless he authorizes it.. he told me that since (Not enough Characters to finsh this emai) any one who could help me and listen to the rest email me and I will finish the story stacyinjamul@yahoo.com PLEASE HELP
The website was not viewable since it expired and we had a hard time getting in contact with the man. Network solutions extented there services until i was able to contact him. Long story short. The guy said we owed him for the past month of charges which is 50.00 for the hosting. (my bro in law has been paying since 1998 50.00 a month). He said he just does the hosting for greg and his article is in atvconnections. Well I paid the late charges for the past month and the renewal fees for 35.00 a year for the domain knowing the site has been up for auction.I told him the site no longer needs to be hosted by him and that when he became a ***. He said in one breath that he has nothing to do with the domain name and i said the operater from Network solutions told me that I cant get on the site unless he gives permisson. he said he wasn’t going to give permission and was going to sell the domain name. I have paid for renewing my domain name to my reseller on the last day of expiry. ! week has passed but ads are shown on my domain name and saying “this domain is expired”
My reseller is saying he renewed and we must wait until domain will go out parking. Is there somathing like that?
is’nt it must be renewed in a short time?
on whois lookup my details are written. And it is saying domain was renewed by domain parking?
some friends has said you must wait 1 month to go out from parking?

A client of mine did not keep an eye on his domain name. It expired and within a couple days, some entity snapped it up. He’s a musician (not a big name, but trying) and needs it, and the domain was his name, so it’s not like this company can use it. They grabbed it so they could be there when he needed it back. I’ve heard of this happening…is it legal? I’m afraid his options are limited.

If someone purchases my domain name, will I still be able to enter my web page by just typing in my IP address?

If a domain name has been parked for a couple of years and is due to expire, how long after that expiry date will it take for that name to become available for purchase? I’m waiting for an expiry date but have been alerted by another user who is also trying to purchase a name. The domain name he wants has expired and it’s not available to him.
So I’m wondering if I’m going to have the same problem. How long can a company withold the sale of a domain name after expiry?
