What if the company that I registered my domain name with has closed down? Let’s say that I have registered my domain name under that company for one year and the company closed down after 8 months, will I still be able to use my domain name until it expires?
I want to register it as the second it it up for grabs.
The info is below.

Domain servers in listed order:
NS2.***********.COM
NS1.***********.COM
Registry Status: ok
The domain name is 11 characters long: first name surname with no spaces. The first is paul, the surname is not particularly common. The person doesn’t seem to be using the website and the domain registration expires in October this year.
I own myname.co.uk. Please only answer if you have some idea as to what domain names will sell for. Any deliberately unhelpful answers will be reported as abuse.
Domain names are not expensive but I want to get this particular domain name which, at the moment is owned by someone else. If he does not renew the registration when it expires in October it will be a free for all. I am prepared to pay a reasonable amount to secure the domain name. If someone else gets there before me in October they’d be unlikely to part with it.
I owned few domain names and bought it through Yahoo. They all expired few months ago, i did not renew them. Today, just for the heck of it, i checked to see if i can buy back the domain names again but it said its already sold. So i went to WHOIS to check out who owns it, it still shows me as the owner/administrator. How can this be? i didn’t make a payment? Does Yahoo hold the domain name or something? how can i get rid of it so it doesn’t show me as the owner and make the domain name available again to others?
Let’s say a domain expires and the owner does not renew it. How long does it take until it’s up for grabs?
Hey everyone… I’m getting ready to start my own website, and I need some advice on obtaining the domain name.
The domain is currently in use, but expires on October 1, 2009… so I have a few days to get prepared. I’ve read about using services like Pool.com to obtain the domain name as it expires, but does anyone have any other advice on the backordering process? I really don’t want to miss my chance at getting this domain!
Has anyone had experience with snatching up dropping domain names? How successful have you been? I’m pretty techno-savvy, but I’m no professional domain-shark or anything… any guidance is most appreciated.
I get error messages when trying to use Firefox and IE and I can’t ge to any pages. Any help please?
Well basically, today I got internet on my laptop by having an ethernet cable connected from main computer to my laptop via a Linksys cable modem. So, we all thought it worked until I tried to install Windows Live Messenger (I tried this on IE) and it came up with this:
The page cannot be displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser settings.

Please try the following:
Click the Refresh button, or try again later.
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.
so I tried on Firefox and it came up with this:
Address Not Found
download.microsoft.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again.
The browser could not find the host server for the provided address.
Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. “ww.mozilla.org” instead of “www.mozilla.org”)
* Are you certain this domain address exists? Its registration may have expired.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check your network connection and DNS server settings.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
Most pages I can’t seem to get onto on both IE and MF. I am on my laptop now on Yahoo Answers, and this site works fine. I have googled for help and it says about turning of Firewalls etc, but I don’t have a Firewall on this laptop I don’t think because I had to do a Hraddrive reset not too long ago and everything got reset to as if it was a brand new laptop. My laptop is Windows XP. I have done everything that it says to do on the error pages, yet still nothing.
Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.
Sparkie177@aol.com is my email if this is easier. Thanks.
Sometimes when I am searching for domain names and a good one is available I wonder if someone had it at another time. For example I just registered twitterlogos.com. I think it is a decent name. Someone else already had twitterlogo.com and tweetlogos.com but not twitterlogos…makes you wonder if someone had it before.
Hello, my domain address www.oricuss.com is going to expire soon. Do you think this is a valuable domain name or not?
i am using it as a photo site until i think of something good to do with it lol. i really only want it for the future value of the domain name.
I want to buy a domain name however someone else has it alreadt and I checked WHOIS and it expires next April/07… however even if I put it on backorder can the current owner renew it? What’s the best was for me to get my site??…
(sorry for spelling)
