I want to purcahse a domain name but it is already in use. There is nothing on the website though. It re directs you to some other site so techinally, you can’t even pull up the domain I want to buy.

I saw who owns it but it seems like some large company. There is no specific name. They are based out of Arizona and when I put in their phone number, a ton of different things came up. Same with the address.

I found out it will expire in Jan 2009. How can I go about getting it? I’m just confused because it seems like it’s just not an individual owning it.

i have two websites that im trying to set up on the same apache server. the main site always displays on both sites, instead of the two different sites showing on their respective domains. how do i fix this? this is my httpd file:

A ‘friend” offered to give me her old domain that she had parked and also build me a website, all I had to do was pay a monthly hosting fee of $26.00. A few months later she mentioned that she had “forgotten” to transfer the domain & would do in in a few weeks when hers expired, that was one year ago.

A few months after the site went live, I discovered that she had linked my site to her Multilevel Marketing sites which I DO NOT want associated with our site. Now that I have called her on the carpet, she won’t return calls or e-mails. I have limited acces to my current site & she has managed to lock me out of most of it.

I now have registered my own domain name and would like to use the content from my exisitng site on the new one while I create a completely new site. Is there a way to copy the content into a Wysiwyg editor & then upload it to my host site?

Basically, I dropped the ball and my domain name expired. It appears a Japanese person or company quickly bought it up, because the entire website is in Japanese now.

Of course, I don’t speak Japanese.

I really want this domain back for my personal business. I would be willing to buy it, but I don’t want to spend a fortune. Besides, I think it’s a little sleazy to charge me a lot to buy back my own website.

What could or should I do? And is there any kind of internet laws set up to protect me if this gets ugly?

I have neglected my web page for months and now it seems that my host (hostgator) has expired. i would rather not use them second time around, and would like to go to something more simple like go daddy. Now my main concern is that my domain name is still active, how would i transfer from my expired hostgator account to godaddy or doteasy?

I want to start a website that will have restaurant/recipe type of “stuff” on there…I will not be selling anything on there “right now.” Anyways…the domain name that I wanted was taken, but when I typed in in the URL, it said that the domain name had expired three days ago. But when I checked on godadddy, It wasn’t available at the moment. I wanted to take that name and add the word “online” to it…so it would be “Blah blah Online.com.” It said that the domain name wasn’t taken, so do you think it’s ok to use that domain name? Or no? I’ve got a website already, but I **** the name. I’m waiting for it to expire to get a new one, but I want a better name than before. (“Pandagami” *Gags*) I would be putting my web design, art (traditional, digital, pixel), and possibly some premade layouts for sites I use on there. I know it’s common for web designers to put their names as the domain, but I don’t think I want to do that. Any suggestions would be great! If you need any more info that might help you think of one, just say so.

Okay, the second thing I need is a host. Currently I’m using DotEasy, but I’m wondering if there’s any better ones. I should just need the basics for now, though I wouldn’t mind the ability to upgrade for more features. I would like a blog, a reasonable amount of web space, a reasonable amount of bandwith, at least one email account (type doesn’t matter), reliability, and possibly at least one or more sub-domain. Things like automatic form and gallery makers or other automatic things don’t matter to me at all. Thanks for any help!
