So I changed my email address about a year ago and obviously didn’t receive a message to renew my domain name. Now it’s expired and the website is down. I still have the html code for the site. So how do I get the site running again? I purchased a new domain name. Should I contact the website designer or can I do it myself? Or would it be easier to contact the server site and try to buy back the domain name? Thank you!!!!!

Can anyone here explain what it means when the registry status of a domain name is listed as clientrenewprohibited? I’m asking because I have a cyberstalker who registered a site in my name and has been using it to threaten and harrass me. I wrote to the webhost/registrar company for the site. They told me I’d need to get an injunction to shut down the site. Can’t afford legal help, so I’m hoping to reclaim the site if the owner lets it expire. Whois says it expires this month, but there’s the strange status “clientrenewprohibited.” Does that mean the domain name own has paid for extra protection? Or could it mean that the webhost company actually looked at the site, realized it’s offensive and is preventing the owner from renewing the registration? Thanks for your help!

With all this chatter about Linda Hogan having a profile on RichSoulMate.com … has anyone bothered to look at who owns that domain? It’s called WHOIS information and, unless they’ve paid extra to hide their identity, it usually shows the owner info such as for that site. A domain I would like to purchase is taken. I was wondering if anyone knows of any site that contacts you to let you know the domain has become available? I think I’ve seen it before, but can’t remember where, if I have. The name was recently registered, and I had checked a few times prior to today to see if the site was still available, so I’m not sure if it was purchased by a hijacker that will resell it to me, but at a more expensive price (I’ve heard of this happening). Incase it was taken by a hijacker, I want to go about getting the domain put on-hold without them knowing I want it, so maybe it’ll expire and I can register it later. Thanks.

How can I find out if a domain name I am interested in is going to expire any time soon? I know the registrar… what should i be looking for on the registrar’s site, or do I need to call them and inquire?

what happened to it!!! when I went to the website it gave me go daddy.com and says notice:This domain name expired on 09/18/07 and is pending renewal or deletion!!!! what is going on did they change the website name or what. if anyone knows the new website tell me!!!

I forgot to renew my domain name – I forgot to keep a record of when it expired. I bought it two years ago and had a different e mail address. I could not get my web site up – I checked with domain names and it had e xpired.(it expired on the 23rd May I renewed it on the 26th May) I have renewed it now (two days ago) but still it is not coming up. Other people can get it apparently. I’ve been told the servers have to try to find my site once it has e xpired. I am losing business! Will it come back!!
