jgladski asked:

Yahoo canceled my account some time ago. As per their terms of service, I was given no warning prior to this occurring. However, they continued to charge me after my account was closed.

Any inquiry to anything at all about my prior account has been answered with a form email (though a different name has been at the bottom each time).

As per the terms of service, Yahoo reserves the right to transfer domains to itself in the event of a canceled account, yet they have not done so at this point. If they’re going to transfer rights to Yahoo, that’s fine, but sitting on it while it’s still registered to me, while giving absolutely no answers to any questions, is nothing short of domain theft in my opinion.

All I want is to be done with Yahoo, their nonexistent customer service, and their “we cancel accounts just because, and continue to charge you for it” business practices.

Can anyone offer a suggestion (besides wait for the registration to expire)?

holy_butt1080 asked:

I’ve recently experienced some frustrating issues with managing my yahoo domain and web hosting services. I’m not sure how I did it.. but I accidently deleted my web hosting plan. Then I ended up canceling my domain name because I thought it would take affect immediately (meaning it would be available for purchase again within a short period of time so I could get it on another yahoo account). After I canceled all this, I found that it would take until 2012 until my domain name expired, so even though I canceled my rights to it, unless I reactivate it.. I will not be able to use it at all.

Basically, I was wondering what would happen if I delete this entire yahoo! account- would that make the domain name available for purchase again?

Or, if I were to reactivate the domain name, is there any way I can transfer it to another yahoo account?

Sorry if this is confusing..
Answers are greeeeattly appreciated.
