I believe that most have a policy of giving the previous owner first dibs on the domain after it expires (usually you have a month or so), after that, anyone can buy it.

Most DN registries will allow you to transfer the name (either to another account on the same provider or to a different provider entirely), but the process can vary widely and will involve at least 3 steps: the new DNS requesting the transfer, the old DNS confirming the transfer, and the new DNS finalizing it.

There will likely be a fee levied by one or both sides of this process. 

Check the documentation on Neil&#039;s provider to see how to begin the process.  Also check your old account to make sure that you don&#039;t have the name locked or anything.</description>

		<description>u can use your domain name on ANY web host you want....you have to transfer the DNS (host does this for a small fee).

It is usually about $15/domain / year to renew...

U shouldn&#039;t put your friends full name on here...not fair to them. :)</description>
