recovering expired domains during the “redemption period” – penalty fee?

Do all domain registrars charge an extra fee for renewing a domain name after it has expired but is still in the redemption period?

Yes most domain registrars charge an extra fee for renewing a domain name after it has expired but is still in the redemption period. It is like with many things pay your bill on time or pay a late fee. It is still better to pay the $80 during the redemption period than what the price goes to after the redemption period. Many expired domains are bough up by third parties
