Someone has registered my expired domain name, can I somehow get it back?

expired domain
Mikey asked:

Okay, several years ago I registered the name www.romantiqueinteriors.com and it expired about a year ago. I never renewed it, and today I checked (which I do occasionally) it says coming soon.

If i register the name with the trademarks office, will I be able to get this name back? What should I do now?

I don’t think it is possible to get it back. Once it’s taken, it’s taken. Unless you contact the person who took it and tell he/she that you want it and might make something out of it. But for now, all you can do is make another domain.

call the up the new domain and threaten them with a fake lawsuit. it might work, just make up stuff and scare them. sometimes it works !

Maybe the domain was bought by those ******* companies that go around buying every domain they can think of then selling them at 50 times the price. But, it says coming son to “register.com”, so I’d try emailing them or checking their site to see if it’s available at a later time. Good luck !
