transferring an expired domain?

expired domain
rhkenji asked:

My domain recently expired. I want to transfer my domain to yahoo! domain hosting but it has already expired and my previous domain host parked a search website on it. How long will they hold my domain name?

The answer depends on what kind of domain, and the registry that supports it, but if you can renew your domain before 19 days have passed since expiry, you should be able to retrieve your domain.

Note that your domain reseller may charge you extra to perform this service.

Once you have renewed the domain, then you should be able to transfer it. The transfer will cost you an extra year’s registration though.

If you’re lucky, you may be able to arrange with your current reseller to acknowledge the transfer on the expired domain, but since recovering expired domains is a way for a reseller to make some extra money, most don’t do that.

    Good luck.

Renew it with your registrar and then transfer it away
