I am currently looking to buy a website. I see that the expiration date is Nov 2009. Is this the expiration date of the domain name? What exactly does that mean. The site is registered with godaddy.com
About how much would it be to renew the domain name?

    You have to renew the domain name before it expires or someone else can take it.

    Expiry mean expiry, you can renew of course
    the price depend on how popular the domain name
    new or renew domain can cost from $15 to $1000 or more a year
    you can bargain.

    just ask how much they want to sell it
    just be careful the domain not in black list.

    Hello,

    When a domain expires , it go to Renewal grace period of 45 days max. Most registrar’s give same rate for renewal in Renewal grace period. But this period they may give less.

    Few registrar gives 15 days time to renew in same rates and few gives 30 and others 40.

    So you need to confirm with your respective registrat how much time they give.

    After this period domain goes to Redemtion period, in which if you want to renew domain you may charged 80 – 200 USD depends on your registrar.

    If you dont renew in this period also, domain deleted and available again for booking.

    Regarding rates you need to approach your registrar.
