Dot tk gets you a free domain, but it’s something like domain.tk instead of domain.com. Other than that, it’s generally not a very good idea to get free domains. They lack good tools, and there’s always a catch. Even if you have to complete promotional offers, it’s still not as good as getting a real domain name.

But Google offers domains for just $10 a year. I have a couple .com names with them and it has loads of features. You can get emails such as and plenty of other tools.

If you want a domain name, you are going to have to pay $10 a year. There is no such thing as a site that gives away domain names. The thousands of people who have asked this question on Yahoo Answers alone is proof of that. If such a site existed, it would be well known. It wouldn’t be a super-secret site.

I used the following site to get a free .com domain:

Pretty much you complete one offer in exchange for a $11 Godaddy gift card (more than enough for one .com domain).

They specialise in cell phone unlocking for free, but they seem to do domains too. My friend told me about it.
