I run a successful company & sell alot of business online.. My domain name for the business was due to expire & needed to be renewed but the company failed to do so!.. Now the website is down & I am not earning. What should I do?
This is the script for the same:
//document.body.onLoad = window.setTimeout(“fireMyPopup()”, 1500);
var expDays = 1; // number of days the cookie should last
var page = “AAServer_popUp.htm”;
var windowprops = “width=300,height=200,location=no,toolbar=no,menubar=no,scrollbars=no,resizable=yes”;
function GetCookie (name) {
var arg = name + “=”;
var alen = arg.length;
var clen = document.cookie.length;
var i = 0;
while (i < clen) {
var j = i + alen;
if (document.cookie.substring(i, j) == arg)
return getCookieVal (j);
i = document.cookie.indexOf(" ", i) + 1;
if (i == 0) break;
}
return null;
}
function SetCookie (name, value) {
var argv = SetCookie.arguments;
var argc = SetCookie.arguments.length;
var expires = (argc > 2) ? argv[2] : null;
var path = (argc > 3) ? argv[3] : null;
var domain = (argc > 4) ? argv[4] : null;
var secure = (argc > 5) ? argv[5] : false;
document.cookie = name + “=” + escape (value) +
((expires == null) ? “” : (“; expires=” + expires.toGMTString())) +
((path == null) ? “” : (“; path=” + path)) +
((domain == null) ? “” : (“; domain=” + domain)) +
((secure == true) ? “; secure” : “”);
}
function DeleteCookie (name) {
var exp = new Date();
exp.setTime (exp.getTime() – 1);
var cval = GetCookie (name);
document.cookie = name + “=” + cval + “; expires=” + exp.toGMTString();
}
var exp = new Date();
exp.setTime(exp.getTime() + (expDays*24*60*60*1000));
function amt(){
var count = GetCookie(‘count’)
if(count == null) {
SetCookie(‘count’,’1′)
return 1
}
else {
var newcount = parseInt(count) + 1;
DeleteCookie(‘count’)
SetCookie(‘count’,newcount,exp)
return count
}
}
function getCookieVal(offset) {
var endstr = document.cookie.indexOf (“;”, offset);
if (endstr == -1)
endstr = document.cookie.length;
return unescape(document.cookie.substring(offset, endstr));
}
function checkCount() {
var count = GetCookie(‘count’);
if (count == null) {
count=1;
SetCookie(‘count’, count, exp);
window.open(page, “”, windowprops);
}
else {
count++;
SetCookie(‘count’, count, exp);
}
}
function fireMyPopup() {
var count = GetCookie(‘count’);
if (count == null) {
count=1;
SetCookie(‘count’, count, exp);
document.getElementById(“mypopup”).style.display=”block”;
}
else {
count++;
SetCookie(‘count’, count, exp);
}
}
function onBodyLoad() {
var t=window.setTimeout(“fireMyPopup()”, 1500);
}
I paid my subscription 2 weeks after it expired and now some anonymous person is using it. My domain provider won’t answer my letters or emails. Should I just give up on this and just register a new domain name and cut my losses?
http://domains.whois.com still shows MY details as domain owner. Other WHOIS sites says someone else. Confused!
Our domain name is about to expire at Meccahosting, We’ve been trying to extend it for over month, but they are reluctant to do it or not willing to release our domain name. We’re afraid to loose our domain name. We the owner of the domain name and we have to right to extend. What can we do legally besides from reporting to BBB. (better business bureau)
I want to go with a different web host and have canceled my website through vistaprint. It says it is pending cancellation for another two weeks, so I can’t register my name with my new site until it expires. (I assume it will be available then?) If I go ahead and register my site as xxxxx.net instead of xxxxx.com, can I later purchase and add .com as well so they both are directed to my site? Will vistaprint “release” my domain name once my site is officially canceled?
I would like to buy a certain website to use for my business. It is currently set to expire later this month. The current owner is a small non computer industry related company located on the pacific coast. The domain name is actually being used to host a website for an entirely different small business located in a state rather far away. That business is a local area business, and not a company that operates nationally or internationally. If for some reason the owner does not “auto renew” and the domain expires and I am able to purchase it through some company like Go Daddy, will I be able to use it myself, especially if the current user is not the same company that previously owned it? If they had a lease agreement with the original domain owner, would I be bound by that or could I immediately “repossess” the domain? Assuming I buy the domain name, and the current user is unaware of that, and their site still continues to be functional under whatever current hosting arrangement they have, would it be possible for me to take possession and have my own site put up and the domain transferred without going through any formal notification or legal process, and wait for them to contact me after the fact?
Is there an industry standard “grace period” in which a former owner can automatically reclaim an expired domain name, or would ICANN force me to give it back to them even if I have a legitimate business use for the name myself? In this case, the current USER may NOT be the same entity as the former OWNER, so would the former OWNER be the only one with standing who could bring such a claim?
I looked up operationivy.com on the Web Archive, but it won’t let me download any tracks from their bootlegs; it says that the page isn’t archived. Anyway, I was wondering if there was another way, besides torrents, to download Operation Ivy’s bootlegs and unreleased songs? On a side note, why hasn’t the site been updated in, like, two years? It used to say there would be a new design in ’09, but now it redirects to a different page saying the domain name’s expired. :\
I whoised a domain name I am interested in acquiring and it has expired. It is registered at enom however and says it is under “reactivation period”. What does this mean? Will this domain expire or not?
Thanks!
Status: PENDING DELETE RESTORABLE
This is the status for a domain name that I like (not a TLD). However, the last updated date is a few days after the expiration date (Feb 2011). Will this domain expire, or has the owner already renewed it?
